The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and International Award for young people.
At Greek Island Activities.Com and through our associated companies we fully support all young
people and young adults and their participation in activities that contribute towards personal growth
and development with a particular focus on involving young people in experiences that will promote
active healthy lifestyles. As a significant contribution to this process we have teamed up with our
local partners to offer a very unique range of opportunities for young people involved in the Duke of
Edinburgh's Award and The International Award for Young People particularly the Gold Award
Residential and Expedition sections. We can also provide input for other personal and social
development schemes.
We have organised a very unique and specific type of residential project week [shown below] which
will offer you a broad selection of activities or you can book any of our other activity holidays as a
residential project. In addition the experience of organising and researching your travel to another
country [Greece] and actually coming here will provide you with the added benefits of diverse
personal development opportunities that will compliment the whole learning experience.
You will be guided through the activities shown below by qualified and friendly staff who have
professional experience and qualifications in working with young adults and the award scheme itself.
This will ensure that your visit is safe, enjoyable and relevant to your chosen activities and your
personal development.

Gold Residential week:
We have put together a mixed activity week comprising of the following inclusions, based on a
minimum group size of 4 candidates.
6 nights shared accommodation at our Odyssey Suites.
3 Days Sea Kayaking, including British Canoe Union 1 or 2 star certification.
1 Day cycling
6 breakfasts
6 Dinners
1 Greek Language lesson.
1 Free day to include project write up and assessment.
Daily reviews and assessments including peer led group meetings.
If you are making application to us as a single candidate we may be able to match you up with others,
please include in your enquiry all dates that you are available.

Gold Expedition week:
Throughout the year we can provide your group [ minimum of 4 people] or individuals with the
facility to complete your expedition project on the island of Poros and local area. Just let us know
when you want to come and we will help you with the proposal.
Note for individual participants: If you wish to participate on your own please contact us.
For all our projects you are required to be knowledgeable with the project criteria. Our program
prices include the following.
3 nights accommodation in our Odyssey Suites [1 pre and 2 post expedition nights or vice versa]
3 days breakfast, lunch and dinner
Expedition routes, maps etc.
Introductory meeting and safety briefing.
Supervision in Greece, appointment of supervisor [English speaking, other languages available]
Assessor in Greece, appointment of assessor [English speaking, other languages available]
Liaison and direct assistance, to seek approval with your operation authority or national office.
Daily reviews and assessments.
Debriefing and project purpose evaluation
If you are making application to us as a single candidate we may be able to match you up with
others, please include in your enquiry all dates that you are available.
